Mike Woodard (mike@meetmike.com)

Mike Woodard got his Maine real estate license in 1988 just before the market collapsed. There were valuable lessons learned in that challenging climate. Twenty years later, Mike still enjoys solving real estate problems for sellers and buyers. Mike's areas of expertise include home construction; condominium development; pricing houses to sell; creative financing; septic systems; surveying; landlording; and real estate guerilla marketing.

Mike's other passions are fine food, great beer, Broadway musicals, and his 17-year old cat, Bonus, acquired as a kitten in lieu of commission to save a deal.

Marc Chalfoun (marc@meetmike.com)

Marc Chalfoun, born in Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ, which has the distinction of being the only double hyphenated town in the country, began his real estate career in 2003, a few years after moving to Mount Desert Island. Marc is enthusiastic about the diverse real estate market here. "MDI has seven major communities, and each has its own unique characteristic and feel. There is something for everyone on this Island. The variety keeps things interesting." His professional goal of providing a helping hand through the process of purchasing a home, which he feels can, at times, be "intimating," was realized with his first sale. He sold an oceanfront property to an out-of-state couple with a young child. "I just knew from dealing with them that it was a perfect fit with lots of potential. I liked being part of helping a family make memories for years to come." Working with his colleagues at Mike Woodard Realty has also been rewarding. "Mike is a no nonsense realtor. He has a way of working with both buyer and seller to reach a mutual agreement." On a personal note, two months out of every year Marc recharges his batteries by partaking in climbing expeditions throughout the world.

Lisa Renault (lisa@meetmike.com)

A Bar Harbor native, Lisa Renault is the newest member of the Mike Woodard Realty team. An elementary education major at the University of Maine, Lisa taught 3rd graders at the local elementary school before making her recent move into real estate. Her work, prior to teaching, was in real estate appraisals, with Skiff Associates, and sparked her interest in the field. Originally licensed in 1994, Lisa returned to real estate in 2006. Her transition into real estate sales evolved with her desire "to accommodate the needs of home buyers, to find the perfect match. It sound like a challenge but for me its an exciting process." Her first sale with Mike Woodard Realty occurred last November. "It was very exciting, and went very smoothly. My buyer clients couldn't have been better to work with." Her enthusiasm fits right in with the Mike Woodard Realty team. "This office is the perfect environment to train in, and make a contribution to. It's a positive team with a single goal: finding the right home for the right home buyer," explains Lisa. For anyone interested in the Mount Desert Island real estate market Lisa says, "it's a buyer's market right now. A very good time for those who are looking to relocate to the area, retire here, or make a lifestyle change." Lisa resides in Bar Harbor with her three children and partner, Peter.
